For any Rolex owner who is looking for the easiest and fastest way to borrow money, Greenbrier Pawn offers the perfect solution.
Greenbrier Pawn Make Cash Loans on Rolex GMT-Master II Watches?
Although we do accept all items of value for the cash loans at Greenbrier Pawn, we have to admit that there are some items and brand names that will allow you to borrow more money. Because the retail price of a Rolex GMT-Master II is so high, we're able to grant higher loans on these professional watches.
The reason we require collateral for our loans is to secure the loan and protect ourselves a bit. Not only does it help reduce our risk, but it helps our customers out, too. After all, because we will hold your Rolex GMT-Master II as collateral in a secure location until you repay the loan, we are able to grant loans to people who might not otherwise easily qualify for loans. This includes people who are currently out of work, who don't have a high income, or who don't have the best credit score.
If you're wondering why we're willing to loan so much money on Rolex GMT-Master II watches, the answer is simple: we like selling these watches in our shop. We even have a waiting list of people who are looking to buy a pre-owned Rolex from us. No matter which model of Rolex you have, and whether it has an Oyster bracelet or Jubilee bracelet, it's valuable. If you default on your loan, we can put the watch in one of our cases and sell it. Because of that, we're willing to make sizable loans on Rolex GMT-Master II watches, since we know we can get our money back if necessary. However, you don't have to worry about us selling your watch if you don't want us to. Just repay your loan by the due date, and you'll get it back that day!
Additionally, if you are unable to repay your loan by the repayment date, this doesn't mean you'll lose your watch. All it means is that you should stop by Greenbrier Pawn in advance of your repayment date so we can grant you an extension.

The History of the Rolex GMT-Master II
The Rolex GMT-Master II is a special watch with a long, rich history. It's best known as being a pilot's watch, but the truth is, it's a favorite among many who don't spend much time in the air. Its multiple models and attractive design make it a favorite among luxury watch collectors from all around the world, but it's also a luxury piece for those who simply appreciate nice things. Whether you bought your watch for an airborne adventure on intercontinental flights, or if you purchased it for everyday wear, you can use it for one of our cash loans at Greenbrier Pawn.
The Original Rolex GMT-Master
The rich history of the Rolex GMT-Master II actually begins with the original GMT-Master, which was first released in 1954. Rolex actually collaborated with Pan American Airways (also known as Pan Am Airways), which is no longer around. The point was to release a watch that could be used by pilots, navigators, and other airline staff.
In particular, this special timepiece was designed to be the watch of choice for long-haul flights. Named for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which has since been renamed as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the Rolex GMT-Master was designed to show two different time zones at one time. It featured a bidirectional rotatable 24-hour bezel and even made it easy to calculate yet another new time zone. As you can probably imagine, the Rolex GMT-Master was quite useful for flight crews who focused on the precision of their timekeeping and who wanted to know the traveller's local time when traveling far from home.
It was designed to be a functional work watch, so it was originally only made out of stainless steel, rather than yellow or white gold. It didn't take long for Rolex to begin releasing Rolex GMT-Master watches that were either made fully from gold or from a mix of steel and gold.
The Release of the Rolex GMT-Master II
Interestingly enough, the Rolex GMT-Master II was designed and released while the original GMT-Master was still being produced. The GMT-Master II was first released in the 1980s, but the original GMT-Master was still released until 1999.
The Rolex GMT-Master II looks almost identical to the timeless aesthetics of the original GMT-Master. However, a few changes were made. With the newly released GMT-Master II, the movement offered an additional capability to adjust the hour hand without stopping the seconds.
50th Anniversary Edition of the Rolex GMT-Master II
In 2005, an updated Rolex GMT-Master II was released. This was a 50th anniversary edition, and it came with quite a few technical changes. For example, a larger Triplock crown was added, which was a feature from Rolex's diver's watches. Cosmetic changes were made as well. The newer model of the GMT-Master II had a bigger case, for example.
Models With Ceramic Bezels
2007 brought some pretty major changes to the Rolex GMT-Master II. Namely, the aluminum insert that had been in use since the 1950s was now replaced with a ceramic bezel. This was done primarily because aluminum is much more prone to scratching than ceramic. There were some issues in the beginning, though. At first, Rolex was not able to make a two-colour Cerachrom bezel insert. This made it more difficult to see the different time zones.
However, this was resolved in 2013. The "Batman" GMT-Master II was released with a blue and black bezel. Then, in 2014, the "Pepsi" GMT-Master II was released. This watch featured a red and blue ceramic bezel. Originally, all of the "Pepsi" models were made out of white gold.
2018 brought "Pepsi" models of the Rolex GMT-Master II in stainless steel, although white gold models were still produced. Additionally, other styles were released this year. The "Root Beer" watch was released, for example. It got its name due to its two-tone brown and black ceramic bezel.
The original "Batman" style was discontinued in 2019. However, it was replaced with a newer version. The newer version brought a Jubilee bracelet and an upgraded movement. Then, in 2021, both "Pepsi" and "Batman" models were re-released with an Oyster bracelet option. This was a rather unexpected version of the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II, and many fans were surprised yet excited to have these new options while still enjoying the Rolex collection features that they had come to love about this watch.
If you aren't sure about which model you have, it's no problem. Bring it to Greenbrier Pawn for us to look at, and we'll let you know more about your watch and its value. After all, some models of the GMT-Master II are more desirable and valuable than others, but they all have value that can help you take out a loan.
The Rolex GMT-Master II: The Cosmopolitan Watch
Regardless of the specific Rolex GMT-Master II that you have, this is a special, high-end luxury watch. Its bidirectional rotatable bezel and Cerachrom insert make it ideal for practical purposes, but it's more than just a work watch. Many people see it as being a statement piece and status symbol.
